![]() Have you ever looked up in the sky and connected stars to form a figure or picture in your mind? Well if you have-- these lines you drew to form these figures are called constellations. I'm learning about constellations in class. Tonight my parents are letting me go over to my friend's house, because her parents just bought a really expensive, cool telescope. It's a clear night sky so they said that even though it's a school night, I can still go over to see the stars. Her parents are going to show us one of the most popular, largest and easiest to find constellation. It's called Orion the Hunter. The easiest part of Orion to see when looking up into the sky is his belt. Through the telescope, we are going to look for 3 stars, right next to each other that are in a straight row. Many people call it Orion's belt. I know I'll be able to see it because in the Northern Hemisphere, Orion can best been seen in the winter months. Besides hanging out with my friend, I’ll also get to see the night sky clearly while looking million of miles away through a telescope-- this will be awesome. I for sure know what I'm going to write my science report on-- Orion's belt! |
